These are some things to know before your first visit to London. My ten tips will make your visit to London easier and help you not stick out as a tourist. London underground tips, how to tip in restaurants, and how to pronounce some of the trickier names, and more.

**Updates and corrections:
– They call it the River Thames (not Thames River)
– A pint = 16oz
– For all oyster cards, zone charges have increased. For example, travel via zones 1-2 for the day (plus any bus rides) it costs Β£6.50 the most for that day

For things mentioned in this video like a free Uber credit, links to help you figure out which Oyster card is best for your visit, and more, head here — http://loveandlondon.com/10-important-things-to-know-before-visiting-london

You don't need an Oyster card anymore if you have a contactless debit / credit card. The same cap applies

Black cabs are a real rip off in LONDON, which this is about, though if you go anywhere else in the UK Black Cabs are VERY reasonably priced. Though if you come to Manchester we have free buses with cover 3 different routes that will get you round the city no charge at all.

Hey! There is a lot of tube etiquette you could talk about e.g. stand on the right and walk on the left on escalators, taking backpacks off, letting people off first etc … also, you can no longer use cash on a bus (maybe you could when this was filmed)!

For the love of god PLEASE do not take an Uber in London. Cabbies are some of the nicest people you will ever meet; just get a cab instead and support a fundamental British institution.

    Hi Jess, how are you?
Listen, I need your help… again… I intend to have lunch in Hyde Park, but I don't know which place to go: Lido Bar and Cafe or Serpentine Bar & Kitchen. What do you think? Or do you have another idea? 10 days to go… πŸ˜‰
    Thank you again.
