The seventh day of my journey around China, where I travel from Shanghai, to Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi’an and Beijing. l arrive in Xi’an and head straight to one of the city’s most iconic images, the Bell Tower. In 39C heat, I explore some of Xi’an’s quieter side streets, and then go on to discover the thriving Muslim Quarter, tasting the local unique street food. After dark, I walk on top of Xi’an’s Ancient City Wall, seeing spectacular views of the city by night.

if you go to xi'an, you can go to Shaanxi History Museum, where you can see things people used thousands years ago, some of them is really delicately designed, the workmanship is really exquisite, you will have an idea that those were not made by ancient Chinese people.

They use a lot stone to build since ancient times no wonder a lot of them still standing.

When I travel, I tend to be a bit generous as long as they don't overcharge excessively. Good video, thanks.

Beautifully filmed – watched the video on Shanghai too… lovely shots and I like your positive take. Regrading the variable prices , a Chinese friend also told me of that . She said it'd due to the liberalising that allowed the Chinese to move all over China so the newly arrived non-locals try to make more money by setting rip off prices. Travellers should be aware of that and it'd be good if everyone complains so we needn't worry about sharks in China.

  • I am scared of taxis in china 🙁 I got scamed by taxi almost everytime. e.g. once a taxi driver in guangzhou swtiched my real 100 rmb to fake one 🙁 you are so much brave to take taxi

For all friends who wanna visit Xi'an after watching Jason's video, if you wanna explore the muslim food street, don't eat ANYTHING on the main street. It's too commercial right now because it's one of the hottest tourist attraction in Xi'an. Go to alleys surround the main street, like Jason did in the video, the food would be much more authentic.

The city wall looks amazing in the eve. It's like ancient Chinese style inside the wall but there are still many modern buildings outside the wall. What a city.
